Incident Reporting and Tracking System (IRTS) Overview
IRTS is designed to store, track and analyze incidents
occurring in an organizational environment. Incidents can be related to organizational functions,
development and support issues, or any other issues that need to
be recorded. IRTS's architecture allows users to record and track time and route the incident from its creation to the resolution. IRTS runs in Client-Server and Internet environments simultaneously. Technology
IRTS uses latest GUI development tools from Oracle for Client Server and PL/SQL Cartridge and procedure builder for Internet side of the application. The information is stored in Oracle RDBMS and accessed through
SQL*Net on the Client-Server side and through Oracle Web Applications Server on the Internet side. Since the data is processed from all interfaces directly, there are no replication or
maintenance tools required for the
applications and the data is updated REAL-TIME. Hardware and Software Requirements
Server Requirements:
Windows 2000 or Sun Solaris (Size will depend on the Amount of Data & Access volume) Client Requirements:
A current web browser IE 5 or higher. (For Internet Access) IRTS uses latest GUI tool to develop its User Interface. Client-Server environment runs in Oracle Runtime with Icons and Window controls The Web Pages are generated dynamically depending on the data requirements and access privileges of the user. The output is 100% pure HTML and doesn't change from Operating
System and Browser variables. All the HTML pages are developed from
color-scheme template for ease of navigation and access. Both interfaces have standard reports and graphics accessible to users. Email Interface
IRTS Client-Sever deployment uses Microsoft's MAPI-based messaging system to send messages from within the applications. Users can be notified of incident assignment, priorities in pre-defined message
formats. IRTS can be tailored to interact with other mail protocols also. Information Storage Incidents Organization by Tasks and Priorities
IRTS records incidents by specific tasks and priorities defined by the users. The tasks can be customized by the user without any modifications to the system. The users will be able to browse through
the system by different categories, tasks and priorities to help organize the issues and be more productive.
IRTS also records all the significant dates along with the time components to manage time and resources. The Time Sheet modules allows employees to build and report their time as well as the associated
incidents.
